Learn French during the summer months

Next summer, why not learn French at CIDEF?

Select a one-week, several-week or a month-long intensive language course in July, August or September (beginning of classes: Monday, 9:00 am. Note that beginners classes are only held during the first week of each month.) Another option is a tailor-made course.

Scheduled hours

Monthly course* July August September
Number of contact hours 80h 80h 80h

*including cultural activities and excursions.

About 20 students per French language class.

Certificate

After completion of the one-month intensive course, you will receive a Certificat de langue et culture françaises (French language and culture certificate), specifying your language proficiency and the number of contact hours you attended. After completion of the one-week intensive course, you will receive a proof of attendance.

During the summer months, CIDEF is not an exam centre for the certifications nationales (official certificates and diplomas).

Courses offered

After taking the language assessment test, you will join a course according to your proficiency ranging from A1 to C1 levels of the CEFR (Common European framework of reference for languages).

Language courses aim to improve your oral and written French skills (listening and reading comprehension, and composition), as well as your knowledge of French grammar, vocabulary and phonetics necessary for developing those skills.

Language courses are complemented with oral skills classes in small groups and self-study with personal support from appropriate staff.

Cultural and sports activities, together with excursions and visits to places of interest are paramount during the summer programme.
